The Wisdom of Life - Volume 1 - Breaking the Cycle of Death
By Joe Carter

What to expect:

Expect the truth about life. Expect to know what is required to transform a reality that includes suffering, disease, and death into one that supports self sustained life. You are encouraged to approach this claim with skepticism.

Expect ideas to be repeated many times in many ways. This message is designed to be sequenced, rhymed, and repeated in unfolding states of maturity. Expect a deeper understanding each time you pass through these ideas. (If you find this approach to understanding boring you can wait for other methods of communicating these ideas to be created that suit you better, otherwise; it is what it is.)

Expect a challenge to understand the truth about life. If you try to carry a sacred sack of fantasy ideas that don't have any real structures in reality to back them up, do yourself a favor… don't waste your time with this.

Expect no change in your experience from what you learn here unless you value and act on the information. The strength of your values, and the behaviors that flow from them, are choices you have to make.

Expect a choice. Expect to understand the connection between the value structure of our awareness, our behaviors, and how we experience life. From this; expect a choice.

Expect certain words and ideas to be defined with specific meaning to support clearer communication. Language can be like trying to pound a nail with a feather. Words sometimes mean different things to different people. An effort has been made here to clarify some existing words without inventing complicated new ones. The reason is to clearly communicate without forcing you to learn a bunch of brand new sparkly “Mumbo-Ma-Jumbo-Road-Runner-Latin” words to do so. There is a dictionary of terms and topics with references to their location at the end of the book.

Expect to focus on structure. These ideas are focused on understanding structures in reality so we can become more aware of who we are and use that to bring more fullness to our life. Since we are a biological structure built with elements of the structure of reality, understanding the principles of structure enables us to understand more about our own nature. (If you get tired of the word structure; you are encouraged to find a better way to explain life.)

What not to expect:

Don't expect complicated formulas. An attempt to keep the structure of these ideas as plain as possible has been made. The ideas may be difficult to grasp because real truth that doesn't have to be patched up with fantasy duct tape is radically different than what most of us are used to. Since we typically filter new ideas through the lens of our existing ideas we sometimes prevent ourselves from seeing anything new. There is no need to use complicated formulas to explain this, so they are not used.

Don't expect freedom from suffering, disease, and death. You will learn how it's possible to realize this experience, but don't expect it to happen because of you. The task is bigger than any one of us. It is not bigger than all of us together are.

Don't expect to be better off for knowing the truth about life. If you learn the truth about life, but do nothing to align your behavior with this knowledge, you may be worse off.

Don't expect to be fulfilled because of what you will know. Understanding the truth is a step toward fulfillment, but knowing the truth alone will not fulfill you. Fulfillment comes from behaving in agreement with what you know to be true about what nourishes life.

Don't expect it to be easy to turn this information into disciplined behaviors that shape our experience. You will learn what must be done to accomplish certain things in life, but you will decide how much to value, and turn that value into behavior. It is not easy to make this happen because we (currently) have quite a bit of momentum toward destructive behavior. The fact that we need to do this together in order for it to work also puts a pretty big boulder in the luggage we have to carry on the journey toward life.

Don't expect to understand if you gloss over these ideas. The ideas presented here are in concentrated form. There is not a whole lot of fluffy entertaining sweet smelly stuff mixed in to keep you entertained. It is suggested that you “eat”, and “digest” this information at your own pace. If you neglect this process you will not receive the intended value. There are references to specific topics and definitions with locations at the end of the book to help with deepening the understanding at a later time.

Don't expect to be asked to follow any person, religion, or any other organization except life. This doesn't mean participating in any of these things is discouraged. It's up to you to decide what to value and how to demonstrate those values through behavior.

Don't expect everything here to be totally accurate. This work has no deliberate errors. There may be unintentional ones. If you can't see the truth of what is revealed here for yourself, be careful about trusting it. You are responsible to test anything you learn against the best standard of truth.

Don't expect a finished work. This is a tiny revelation of the surface of the truth. It is meant as a basic guide to understand the truth about life. It is meant to be a starting point we can use to move toward a greater awareness and a fuller experience of life.
