The Wisdom of Life

- Volume 1 -

Breaking the Cycle of Chaos

Introduction:

Many of us have acquired a musical instrument of some type at some point in our life. Not all of us who did so made the journey from getting the instrument to becoming a skillful artist. Some of us learned to mimic a few songs but never developed the skill to creatively speak meaningful harmonies through the instrument. Some of us lost interest or gave up when we discovered how hard it is to actually develop into a mature and skillful artist. When we fail to make the full journey to maturity; instead of a source of harmonious meaningful communication, an instrument can become a symbol of wasted potential. Our life is just such an instrument.

All of us receive the instrument we call life, but not all of us learn how to produce meaningful harmonies through our life. Even fewer of us become skilled and creative artists. It is not easy to remain steady on a journey toward mature potential when it requires bravery, focus, discipline, and sacrifice. Some of us lack nourishment in the form of understanding so we do not know the way. Some of us fail to make the effort to practice producing nourishing harmonies so we never develop the skill. Some of us sadly echo whatever sounds we happen to hear even if they destroy us. As a result of broken relationships with who we truly are and what our potential is, the full measure of life is wasted and we exist in a state of poverty. Instead of realizing the fullness of life, we cast a frustrated shadow on what could be.

These ideas are intended to reveal the harmony of connections between the way we perceive and respond, and the way we experience life. There are no “rules you should live by” contained here. There is a revelation of the rules we already do live by that bring harmony or chaos to our life. How you decide to value these ideas and what you decide to do with them belong to you.

Because life is a structure; understanding the rules by which structures behave can give us the framework to better understand our own nature. From this better understanding of ourselves we can make more clear and intentional choices to more powerfully and intentionally influence our experience.

By understanding the structure of life we gain a greater awareness of what can bring healing, freedom, choice, and the power to realize a more fulfilled life. If these ideas are understood as they're intended, you will understand the truth about what sustains life, and what causes suffering, disease, and death. You will also understand what it takes to realize a fulfilled and satisfied life.

Understanding the harmony of meaning revealed through the structure of life is empowering, enlightening, and connects us with who and what we truly are. Changing our experience of life is not easy. It does not come from understanding alone, but from valuing what we understand with enough strength to translate it into meaningful and purposeful behaviors. In other words; the fullness of life comes from making the truth about life a way of life.

Because each of us is a voice in the choir of life and many of our instruments (currently) vibrate out of harmony with life, it is not easy to change. Because of the momentum of our existing destructive behaviors, we sometimes move like a moth toward the flames even when we know a better way. These ideas are designed to bring freedom, but they are not easy to translate into meaningful life changing behaviors. Understanding life points the way to fulfillment, choosing to make the journey is up to us.

Our (current) experience of life winds up a chaotic disharmonious blob of dead flesh. Instead of looking to life for the answers, we (currently) slap one distraction after another in front of ourselves until we get sucked down to the grave. Since we are connected to each other we ride the currents of our existing destructive values into chaos. We have the power to change this. The choice is ours to make, and the journey is ours to take.

The purpose of this idea structure is to point to the horizon of what is possible in life and to provide nourishment to move in that direction. The ideas are designed to equip and empower us to be able to move with intention toward a fuller experience of harmony with life. They are tools that can bring harmony, healing, and nourishment to our wounded and malnourished body. The journey is not easy, but the reward is great. The effort to realize the full experience of life, as always, is ours to choose or refuse.
